2. What We Collect
We only collect what you give us, and what's necessary to operate the site.
- Form submissions (catering, franchise, careers, newsletter): your name, email, phone, event/job details, and anything you write in the message field.
- Newsletter sign-ups: just your email address.
- Analytics: if you accept cookies, anonymous traffic data (pages visited, device type, country/region) via Google Analytics 4.
- Server logs: standard request information (IP address, browser type, timestamp) — kept short-term for security and debugging by our host (Netlify).
We do not collect payment information on this site — online food orders are processed by Toast Tab, who has its own privacy policy.
3. How We Use It
- To reply to your inquiry (catering quotes, franchise info, job application).
- To send newsletter emails if you signed up — you can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand which pages people find useful, in aggregate, so we can improve them.
- To prevent spam and abuse.
We never sell or rent your personal data. Period.
4. Who Has Access
- Our team — only the people who handle catering, franchise, careers, or newsletter operations.
- Netlify — hosts the website and processes form submissions on our behalf. Their privacy policy.
- Google — provides Analytics if you accept cookies, and serves Google Fonts. Their privacy policy.
5. Cookies & Tracking
The first time you visit, you'll see a banner asking whether to accept analytics cookies. If you decline, we don't load Google Analytics. If you accept, GA4 sets cookies to measure traffic anonymously. You can change your mind any time by clearing your browser cookies for our site.
We don't use ad-tracking pixels, retargeting, or cross-site cookies.
6. Your Rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what personal data we have about you
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete it entirely
- Stop sending you the newsletter (or click "unsubscribe" in any email)
Email info@southernluvbbq.com with your request. We typically respond within 7 business days.
7. Data Retention
Form submissions are kept for as long as we have an active business relationship with you, plus a reasonable period afterward for our records. Newsletter signups are kept until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is aggregated and not personally identifiable.
8. Children
This site is not intended for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13.
9. Changes
We may update this policy occasionally — usually to reflect new tools we're using or legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. Material changes will be noted on this page.
